Live life on the wild side and check out the really cool wildlife the Alabama Gulf Coast has to offer.
LATER GATOR
Walk with an attentive eye at Gulf State Park, where you will discover different bodies of water along the trails that are home to alligators. Off the beaten path, Alligator Alley, located in Summerdale, AL, provides the opportunity to see more than 600 alligators, from hatchlings to mature adults, as they relax, sunbathe, court and nest. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo has an 11-foot reptile friend, Chuckie, an American alligator and unofficial mascot of the zoo.
FOR THE BIRDS
Do you love the relaxation that comes with bird-watching? Our area has great spots to add to your vacation to-do list. The Audubon Bird Sanctuary is located on Dauphin Island, considered “America’s Birdiest City.” Fort Morgan is both a historic site and a nature preserve. It is a must-visit for history buffs and bird- watchers. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo features an aviary with many different species of birds, and if you listen closely, you might even hear some of them talk to you.
FLIPPERED FRIENDS
Your trip to the Alabama Gulf Coast isn’t complete until you see dolphins. While visiting, take advantage of the opportunity to cruise along the Gulf Coast and see these friendly creatures. We have many cruises that follow along the calm back bays, like The Fun Boats! Dolphin Cruises, Sail Wild Hearts, Dolphins Down Under, Surf’s Up Dolphin Cruises and Southern Rose Dolphin Cruises.
