Gulf State Park Pavilion 22250 E. Beach Blvd., Gulf Shores, Alabama 36542
International Environmental Education Day- Footprints in the sand: Gulf State Park’s Past, Present, and Future
Take a step back in time to see a world in a grain of sand and learn how the forces of Nature have influenced the natural and human communities of the Gulf State Park.
Join our Park Naturalists to learn why our dunes are important, what creatures can be found in and around these diverse coastal ecosystems, and how different cultures and natural disasters have changed our Park. Activities include Naturalist-led presentations, shell collection, nature journaling, and a dune-building contest.
By the end of this program, we hope you leave with some seashell treasures, precious memories, and an understanding of why it is important to protect the Park for future generations.
