2024 Winter Showcase Series: Archaeology of Mobile Bay

As part of the 2024 Winter Showcase Series presented by Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism, please join us for this presentation from Rachel Hines with The University of South Alabama. 

Over the past few years, archaeologists from the University of South Alabama excavated 15 sites on Mobile Bay as part of the I-10 Mobile River Bridge Archaeology Project. These sites span 2,000 years of history, including early Native American sites, colonial occupations, industrial sites, and the Down the Bay neighborhood. Learn about the latest research to come out of this ongoing project.
