Some days just call for a steak dinner. While the Alabama Gulf Coast is known for its fresh seafood, local eateries take pride in the quality of steaks they offer as well, and dining at a place that offers both means you get the best of both worlds.
Whether you like a Petit Filet, a juicy ribeye, a classic Porterhouse, or another cut entirely, you’ll find some of the best here on the Alabama coast. You might be surprised to find what restaurants specialize in the best-cut T-Bone or the juiciest sirloin.
Read on to get the dish on the area’s top spots for scoring the best steaks.
Big Mike’s Steakhouse
Big Mike’s Steakhouse, located in Orange Beach, is one of the newest and most popular steakhouses in the area. Make sure to head there early and get in line, which you’ll usually find is already out the door.
Their most popular steak—The Big Mike, a 24-ounce ribeye—is always a fan favorite and will fill you up fast! All steaks are served with a house salad, bread, and your choice of baked potato or steak fries.
When a wood-fire grilled steak is so tender you can cut it like butter, you can see why they were voted Alabama’s Best Steak by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association.

Voyagers
Located inside Perdido Beach Resort, folks from all over flock to Voyagers restaurant to enjoy fresh seafood, stunning Gulf-front views, and the eatery’s one-of-a-kind steaks.
All steaks are dry aged for a minimum of 35 days and then broiled, giving them a unique tenderness and intense flavor. Enjoy your steak without enhancements, or kick it up a notch and add one of Voyagers’ sauces or crowns, like the bayside blue fondue, herbsaint hollandaise, or crab oscar.
While these steaks are definitely a meal within themselves, be sure to save room for one of their homemade desserts. Butterscotch and bacon bread pudding anyone?

The Tin Top Restaurant & Oyster Bar
Nestled in the quaint town of Bon Secour, just minutes outside of Gulf Shores, you will find Tin Top Restaurant and Oyster Bar, an award-winning eatery that is a smashing hit for anyone that visits.
Begin your meal with their famous sautéed crab claws or their tasty Coco Loco Shrimp.
For the main course, you can’t beat the Tender Fenton, a 10 oz. tenderloin topped with oysters fenton and served with your choice of side. If you love Prime Rib and visit on a Friday evening, you might be able to score their Prime Rib special—but get there early, as they quickly run out.
End your mouth-watering feast with one of their decadent desserts, like one of the three bread pudding options they offer or a classic Crème Brûlée.

Wolf Bay Lodge Restaurant
This family-owned restaurant started out as a bait shop in the 1940s and began serving food in the early 1970s when local residents, Charlie and Sandra Wrape, took it over. The much-loved eatery unfortunately burned down in late 2008, but has recovered since and now has two locations along the Alabama Gulf Coast—one in Foley off Co. Rd. 20 and one in Orange Beach on Perdido Beach Blvd.
While Wolf Bay is traditionally known for their fresh seafood, a true steak lover will not want to pass this place up. The New York strip is always a good choice, but if you’re feeling a bit famished, we suggest going with their hand-carved 12 oz. ribeye.
Make it a surf-n-turf when you add a lobster tail or Gulf-fried shrimp to any of the entrees.
