Zoo Brew: Sips for Simbas

The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo presents the 2024 ZOO BREW: Sips for Simbas on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 6–9 p.m. Guests (21 and older only) are invited to the Zoo for an evening of beer tastings, food, live music by Red and the Revelers, animal meet and greets, and more!

New this year: one ticket type. Everyone has access to the Zoo before beer tastings begin!

Admission $70, Zoo Member $60, Designated Driver $25

6–7:30 p.m. – After Hours Admission to the Zoo

Tour the zoo and see what the animals are up to after hours (enjoy special snacks and treats along the way, cash bar available during this time).

7–9 p.m. – Beer Tastings, Live Music, Food and More

Beer tastings begin at 7 p.m. in the green space. Drink, dance, eat, and meet your favorite animal ambassadors.

Why Does Zoo Brew Matter?

Zoo Brew is an important fundraiser for both the Zoo and the conservation efforts it supports. The Zoo is a non-profit, so this fundraiser and everyone who supports it helps the Zoo provide for the needs of the more than 300 animals that call the Zoo home. Your support provides special diets, vet care and enrichment to keep the animals active and healthy. It also allows the Zoo the opportunity to continue educational programs in the community that help people engage with wildlife and encourage them to protect the world around them.

Each year the AGCZ conservation committee chooses a conservation effort that it can educate guests about and raise funds to help their cause. This year, a portion of the proceeds from Zoo Brew: Sips for Simbas (Swahili for "lion") will be donated to Lion Guardians to support their efforts in finding and enacting long-term solutions for people and lions to co-exist. The Zoo's resident lions, Daniel, Chadwick, Regina and Nandi allow for an opportunity to share how important these animals are and how to support efforts that protect them in the wild.

The event will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, all activities will be moved inside under the event center pavilion.

All ticket sales are final, no refunds will be issued.
