Sometimes words just fall short in describing how delicious a dish is. This is especially true when we try to share how we feel about one of our favorite local seafood restaurants – DeSoto’s Seafood Kitchen.
So, we’ve decided to let this collection of lip-smacking, drool-inducing photos to do the work for us. Take a look, and then come join us at DeSoto’s Seafood Kitchen, located at 138 West 1st Avenue in Gulf Shores.
Mmmm.... bread!
What? Starting off this menu for a seafood restaurant with a basket of bread? If you’ve been there, you know. Its smiles all around when that warm, soft bread arrives. Better grab yours fast.
Crab Claws
DeSoto’s Crab Claws are great for sharing around the table. Don’t feel like sharing? Get an extra order for yourself and dive in.
Smoked Tuna Dip
The Smoked Tuna Dip is on the Starters menu, but we’ve been known to enjoy it paired with a salad or cup of gumbo for a delicious lunch.
Riviera Salad
Speaking of a salad, order the generous Riviera Salad and add on shrimp for a fresh lunch full of flavor. It is also available with four chicken add-on options.
Shrimp Po'Boy
There’s “piled high” and then there is ridiculously overflowing. The Fried Shrimp Po-Boy is that ridiculous level and oh so good! Also available with fried flounder, crawfish or oysters.
Coconut Shrimp
It’s an easy choice to pick the Coconut Shrimp, fried to a perfect golden. The challenge comes for deciding which two sides. Our solution? One a bit indulgent – the Sweet Potato Casserole, and one we can call healthy – the Steamed Veggies.
Fried Shrimp
Confession. We love our carbs! We’ve dozed off a time or two after filling up on the Fried Shrimp paired with gooey Mac N Cheese and rich Au Gratin Potatoes. And while we sleep it off, dreams of our next meal at DeSoto’s!
Shrimp and Pasta Marsala
Pasta may just be the perfect comfort food. That’s certainly true when you sink your fork into the Shrimp and Pasta Marsala on the dinner menu. Fettuccine never had it so good.
Blackened Triggerfish
As you can tell from our choices, we’re pretty fond of the shrimp, and for good reason. But when we are craving something different, it’s the Blackened Triggerfish for sure.
Key Lime Pie
Yes, we did save room for dessert. Nothing tops off a great meal at DeSoto’s like their Key Lime Pie. Perfectly sweet and tart.
Okay, we are full and happy! And you will be too when you enjoy a lunch or dinner at DeSoto’s Seafood Kitchen in Gulf Shores.
Pro tip: As you can imagine, DeSoto’s can get pretty busy. You can join their waitlist before you arrive. Just sign in on Yelp.
