Ride through Gulf State Park using the bike lanes of Highway 135, State Park Road 2, and Highway 182. You’ll navigate around Lake Shelby getting awe-inspiring views of the lake.
Fort Morgan Road Trail
On Fort Morgan Road (Highway 180), runners and bikers will find just over 5 miles of paved trail that winds through tree lined neighborhoods and ends at a major intersection of Highway 59.
Pro Tip: If you cross Highway 180 at the Highway 59 intersection, your ride can continue onto Coyote Crossing, part of the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail.
The Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail
Weaving through Gulf State Park, the Backcountry Trail features 7 unique trails which intertwine to make up 15 miles of walking, running, or biking perfection. There’s plenty of space to get your heart rate up, and you’ll find bathrooms, a boulder park, butterfly garden, and pavilion along the trails! Plus, did we mention animals like birds, alligators, snakes, deer, and more?

Rosemary Dunes Trail – 1.75 miles

Graham Creek Nature Preserve
Speaking of places to catch a glimpse of wildlife, the Graham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley is a must-see for outdoor enthusiasts. Choose from a 5-mile hiking trail, 7.5-mile bicycling trail, or 3-mile cross country trail, and keep your eyes peeled for unique critters.
Beachfront Cruise
Use the bike path on Highway 182 and glide in sight of the beach. On this seemingly endless stretch of highway throughout Orange Beach and Gulf Shores (and into Florida), you’ll check out the gorgeous, waterfront homes, high-rise condos, and be sure to stop and grab a bite at one of the many (and famous) restaurants on your path.
Eastern Shore Bike Trail
Start at the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park and travel south to Weeks Bay. On the way, ride through the communities of Spanish Fort, Daphne, Fairhope, and Point Clear. You’ll find kiosks with maps throughout the trail plus pass picturesque views of Mobile Bay, historic sites, and plenty of flora and fauna. Get a map here.
