The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo comes alive after dark during the Harvest Moon Festival on Saturday, September 26. This family-friendly evening offers after-hours access to the zoo along with nocturnal animal activities, an interactive hay maze, animal ambassador meet-and-greets and more.
Guests can enjoy a s’mores station, bounce houses and a DJ Glow Party throughout the evening. Food trucks, popcorn and drinks will also be available for purchase.
The Harvest Moon Festival serves as an important fundraiser for the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo and its conservation efforts. Proceeds help provide food, veterinary care and enrichment for the more than 250 animals at the zoo while also supporting educational programs in the community.
A portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit the SAFE American Red Wolf Program. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is the first zoo in Alabama to become a partner facility in the program, caring for American red wolves until they are ready to be paired for future breeding or released into the wild.
The event will take place rain or shine. In the event of rain, as many activities as possible will move inside under the event center pavilion. Some animals may not be on exhibit after hours due to their normal sleep schedules. All ticket sales are final and no refunds will be issued.
