Volunteers and organizations are invited to help clean Alabama's coastal waterways and beaches on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 8 a.m. to noon.
As the state's largest annual volunteer event, Alabama Coastal Cleanup Day also encourages participants to clean neighborhoods, local parks, streets and storm drains. Litter that enters storm drains, streams and rivers eventually reaches bays and the Gulf, making every cleanup effort an important step toward protecting Alabama's coastal environment.
Since Alabama joined the International Coastal Cleanup in 1987, more than 110,000 volunteers have participated in the annual event. Their dedication has helped preserve the state's valuable natural resources while making a lasting impact on local communities.
