Kayden's Candy Factory
After a day in the hot summer sun it is time to relax. Head over to Kayden's Candy Factory in Orange Beach where you can find a multitude of items covered in chocolate (things you would never think of, but you really want to try). You'll have to visit a few times because there are treats to satisfy your sweet tooth over & over; Kayden's has 33 truffle flavors, 10 different fudge flavors, homemade ice cream and more than 72 homemade treats that you don't want to miss out on!
Rita’s
Let’s shake it up a little with some of Rita’s Italian Ice! They’ve got everything from Italian Ice to Custard Cookie Sandwiches! On a hot day, there’s nothing quite like something cold from Rita’s.
Matt’s Ice Cream
The only thing better than homemade ice cream is homemade ice cream you didn’t have to make yourself! Matt’s Ice Cream in Gulf Shores is the only place in town with ice cream just like mama makes it (well, our moms don’t make ice cream at home, but you get it). Situated right in the heart of the action near Souvenir City and the Original Oyster House, patrons can indulge in exotic flavors like bacon ice cream or try something fresh like the lemon lime.
Dippin’ Dots
Is it even a beach vacation if you don’t have Dippin’ Dots? We say absolutely not. These teeny balls of ice cream are waiting to cool you down after a long day in the sun. Grab a classic flavor or add some toppings to create your own kind of treat! It’s like eating a bowl of snowflakes, which feels confusing because you’re at the beach – but when something is this delicious, you don’t question it.

Dairy Queen Foley AL
Dairy Queen
So you’re cruising South on Highway 59 en route to start your beach vacation. As you get closer to the beach, your worries start to drift away (along with plans to stay on your diet). About that time, you’re going to drive by the Dairy Queen in Foley, and we definitely expect you to stop for an end-of-the-road-trip treat! From Classic Sundaes to royal Treats, Dairy Queen has the wide variety of sweet desserts you’ve come to love. They’re famous for their Upside-down Blizzards which are cold ice cream smoothies that are so thick you can eat them upside-down (hence the name). Don’t pass go, don’t collect $200…just stop and start your vacation the right way.
