If you’ve spent any time on the Gulf Coast, then you know how much we love our Bushwackers around here. Besides a day well spent on the beach, nothing floats our boat more than an ice-cold, creamy boozy beverage to go along with it.
You can find Bushwackers on the menu at virtually every restaurant and bar along our 32 miles of coastline. And while most claim to have the best Bushwacker around, we think they each bring something unique to the table.
Take a trip with us as we explore the area’s top Bushwackers.
Cobalt, the Restaurant

Justice Marketing Group/Cobalt, The Restaurant
One of our area’s most popular eateries for their sophisticated menu and stunning bay views, Cobalt, the Restaurant makes their Bushwackers with Smirnoff Whipped Cream vodka, coffee liqueur, light crème de cacao and vanilla bean ice cream. Yum! To top it off, they serve the frosty beverage in a chocolate-laced tulip glass. And for a little extra float in your boat, they’ll float Bacardi 151-proof rum for another $2.
Cobalt is in Orange Beach at the foot of the Perdido Pass Bridge next to Caribe Resort.
Flora-Bama

Flora-Bama
Dubbed one of America’s best roadhouses and “Home of the World-Famous Bushwacker,” Flora-Bama is known for its legendary Bushwackers, made with rum, ice cream and secret delicious ingredients. Vacationers come from near and far to experience the iconic beverage for themselves, and it’s become a favorite of many.
Flora-Bama sits right on the Alabama/Florida line at Perdido Key, Florida and Orange Beach, AL.

The Sandshaker

Though the Bushwacker originates in the U.S. Virgin Islands, we have The Sandshaker’s owner, Linda Murphy, to thank for bringing it stateside. For more than 40 years, the Bushwacker has been the signature drink of the Sandshaker, the “Home of the Original Bushwacker.” Though The Sandshaker’s Bushwackers were initially made using the original recipe, in the four decades they’ve been blending ‘em up, they’ve come up with their own signature blend, including some fruity variations, like their popular Banana and Strawberry Bushwackers.
Sandshaker’s original location is on Pensacola Beach, but this year they opened up a location at The Wharf in Orange Beach.
Tacky Jacks

You can go by car or boat to enjoy one of their classically made Bushwackers that’s loved by locals and vacationers alike.
Tacky Jacks has 3 locations—one in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Fort Morgan.
