Three-day yoga festival takes place April 21-23 at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Yogis from across the Southeast will gather at Gulf State Park to dive in to their practice, discover new styles and celebrate the beauty of the Alabama Gulf Coast at Awakened Life Yoga Festival from April 21-23, 2017.
The annual festival is a family-friendly yoga retreat incorporating a variety of practices including power vinyasa, Buti, acro, restorative, kundalini and much more. Each night will end with a gathering filled with music and fellowship. The event lineup features several regional stars including Michelle Baker, director and founder of Swan River Yoga in New Orleans, who will perform with her group Bhakti Caravan, and Grayson Capps, award-winning musician based in Mobile, Ala. Guests will also have the option to rent paddleboards, kayaks and bikes to use throughout the weekend.
In celebration of Earth Day, there will be a relay race on the morning of April 22. The race will be comprised of amusing obstacle courses, suitable for all ages, benefitting the Gulf Coast Youth Mindfulness Project (GCYMP), a non-profit youth empowerment organization focused on improving the well-being of local children and teens.
