Our stretch of the coast will no doubt be decidedly tropical on May 31 as loyal Parrot Heads flock to Orange Beach to enjoy Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers performing at The Wharf Amphitheater. The concert begins at 8pm and Jimmy will serenade his fans with all the favorites. But what are fans to do in the hours leading up to the show?

The Wharf Welcomes Tailgaters

Unlike most concerts and events at The Wharf, for this concert fans can arrive as early as 10am and enjoy tailgating fun in a designated parking lot. Rules include no glass, no charcoal and no lighter fluid. But propane tanks are allowed. Just be prepared to leave after the show because there is no overnight parking.

Cheeseburgers Aplenty in Our Paradise

If you don’t want to fire up the grill and cook your own cheeseburger before the show, you’re in luck. Here in Coast360 we have amazing cheeseburger choices throughout Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. And at each location you can pair it with something a lot more inviting than carrot juice.

LuLu’s – No list of Alabama Gulf Coast stops for Parrot Heads would be complete without LuLu’s. Jimmy’s sister keeps the good times and great food in high gear.

Pair your Cheeseburger in Paradise – Crazy Sista Version with JB’s Mo Perfect Margarita: Margaritaville Gold and Silver tequilas, triple sec, orange Curacao and freshly-squeezed limes.

Pink Pony Pub – This Gulf Shores landmark serves up amazing beach views with their burgers. And the sips come best with the Captain Mai Tai: spiced premium rum, amaretto, triple sec, orange, pineapple, lime and grenadine.

Flora-Bama – It’s a legend for a reason. Enjoy your burger with their famous bushwhacker.

Tacky Jacks – Choose from locations in Fort Morgan, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. And choose the Rum Runner to complement your burger. It’s a tropical blend of dark and coconut rums, orange juice, pineapple and grenadine.

Luna’s Eat & Drink – New to the scene, Luna’s gives you the control as you build your own burger with lots of gourmet toppings. Pair it with one of their 32 craft beers.

Pirate’s Cove – By land or sea, you’ll find a laid back, friendly place to savor a great burger and your favorite cold beer. No pretenses here.

But if you want to come early, grab a great parking spot, and just hang around The Wharf until the show, you’ll still find amazing burgers and cold drinks.

Montego’s – Better bring a friend to share the ¾lb Monte burger or the Full Monte Burger at 1.5 lbs. But watch out for the fins when you order the Shark Bite: a frozen delight of ice cream, Blue Chair Banana Cream Rum, Captain Morgan White Rum, triple sec and strawberry.

The Hot Spot – These guys aren’t foolin’ around. They’ll test your resolve with a cheeseburger po boy or a 1 lb cheeseburger. Either way, you’ll need a draft pitcher and somewhere to take a nap afterwards.

No matter where you find your cheeseburger here on the coast, we’re glad to welcome you for a wonderful time. Pick up a copy of Coast360 for even more fun things to do.
