Beach Volleyball fans will be heading to the Gulf Shores Public Beach May 6 – 8 for the NCAA National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship. Our very own Coast360 beaches will be in the spotlight as eight of the country’s best college teams face off on the sand.
More than just a fad for a handful of schools, beach volleyball is a sponsored sport at more than 50 colleges. This championship will be played in a double-elimination format with teams consisting of five pairs. The event will be hosted by the University of Alabama in Birmingham, the City of Gulf Shores and the Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Sports Commission.
To enjoy the action, grab your tickets and head to the main public beach, located directly behind The Hangout. The beach will be converted into courts for the matches and courts for practice. Bleachers will be available. Just remember to bring your sunscreen, shades and hat.

The event will be televised live by Turner networks, with truTV providing live coverage on Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7, from 3-6 p.m. ET and the championship round airing on TBS on Sunday, May 8, at 2 p.m. Additional Live streaming coverage of every court in each match of the tournament will be available on NCAA.com
