Free lecture and showcasing series at local welcome centers in January and February

Series takes place Jan. 16 through Feb. 24 at various times at the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Welcome Centers

The public is invited to attend Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism’s 2017 Showcasing and Lecture Series highlighting military and coastal life history, local artisans and nature on week days from Jan. 16 to Feb. 24. Showcasings will take place on various days from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Orange Beach Welcome Center (23685 Perdido Beach Blvd.), while lectures will take place each week day at 2 p.m. at the Gulf Shores Welcome Center (3459 Gulf Shores Parkway).

“We are so grateful to welcome the snowbirds’ return to our community, and the lecture and showcasing series is an incredible tool to introduce and connect these invited guests to new or possibly undiscovered destination activities and businesses,” said Kim Chapman, director of hospitality and information at the tourism bureau. “We also encourage all guests to visit the Gulf Shores Welcome Center, which opened in its new location shortly after last snowbird season.”
