Kevin “Dauber” Lacz is a former Navy SEAL sniper, breacher, and combat medic who served in Iraq with real-life American Sniper Chris Kyle. As SEAL Technical Advisor on Clint Eastwood’s film adaptation, Kevin helped the actors accurately portray Navy SEALs – teaching them to mimic the laser-like focus and steadfast determination that were rigorously engrained in Lacz and Kyle as members of the country’s most elite special ops command force.

After the terror attacks on 9/11 took the life of a friend’s father, Lacz decided to leave school and join the Navy SEALs, serving two tours in Iraq in 2006 and 2008. Lacz did two platoons at SEAL Team THREE where Kyle became a friend and mentor.

Lacz’s book, The Last Punisher, is a bold, no-holds-barred first-person account of the Iraq War. With wry humor and moving testimony, Kevin Lacz tells the story of his tour in Iraq with SEAL Team 3, the warrior elite of the Navy. This legendary unit, known as “The Punishers,” included Chris Kyle (American Sniper), Mike Monsoor, Ryan Job, and Marc Lee. These brave men were instrumental in securing the key locations in the pivotal 2006 Battle of Ramadi, told with stunning detail in these pages. A gripping and intimate on-the-ground memoir, he shares his experience of his deployment, from his first mission to his first kill to his eventual successful return to United States to play himself in the Oscar-nominated film directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper.

The Last Punisher is available for purchase July 12th. Flora-Bama will be doing a book signing on Sunday, July 17th from 1p-5p. Books will be sold by Books-A-Million along with some available t-shirts in the tent area. Kevin will be signing books and conversing with friends and customers who are there to meet him. There will be an appreciation ceremony for first responders, active duty military and veterans with complimentary food while supplies last from Moe’s Original BBQ and Cub’s Crawfish. Along with food, a raffle ticket will be given to all first responders, active duty military and veterans for a drawing for a 3-night vacation provided by Meyer Vacation Rentals compliments of Donnie and Karla Dunbar.

Following the book signing, there will be a special performance by Tim Montana and the Shrednecks at 5pm in the Tent Stage. This Southern Rock Americana Country band is currently on tour with Kid Rock and was recently named by Rolling Stone Country as one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know”.
