Where on the Gulf do you NEED to go when you get those "Cheat Days?"

Where on the Gulf do you NEED to go when you get those “Cheat Days?”

Where To Go For Those Precious Cheat Days??

An entire vacation of pure immoderation may be the exact opposite of what the doctor ordered, but everyone deserves to have a little cheat day. When you’re ready for such a culinary bender, what better place to indulge than the Alabama Gulf Coast? We certainly can’t think of one.

It’s time to eat, drink, and be merry, y’all – tomorrow we diet!

Breakfast

A Big Spoon Bloody Mary (and breakfast) from Brick and Spoon is the ideal way to start your day of excess. Didn’t want to include veggies on your cheat day? We don’t think it counts if you’re drinking them…well, at least the vodka (choose from 12 different options) will negate their nutritional value. The toppings at Brick & Spoon range from blue cheese stuffed olives to deviled eggs to Canadian bacon.

With over 30 toppings, you’ll be able to find whatever your gluttonous heart desires. Of course, as a disclaimer, we are certainly not saying you should choose all of the toppings. Make it epic, but be responsible, people. This is a binge day, not a death sentence.

Lunch

You’re on the Coast, so your binge should 100% include fresh seafood. Of course, if you’re only giving yourself a day’s worth of deep fried luxury, the question becomes what type of seafood to have? Well we Southerners are so hospitable, we won’t even make you choose. Enter the Captain’s Fried Platter at Acme Oyster House.

Fried oysters, shrimp, fish, soft shell crab, craw puppies, french fries, hush puppies, onion rings & coleslaw. Technically it’s for two people, but since this is your cheat day, we won’t judge if you order it for yourself.

Dinner

The menu rotates at Voyager’s at Perdido Beach Resort, but an example of the rich, decadence waiting for you?

Try the Aurora Farms 14 oz. Rib Eye Steak which boasts 33 prime cut beef, roasted asparagus, tomato and fingerling potatoes, with rosemary demi Matire d’hôtel Butter. Should you add the ½ Maine lobster? Why, yes. Yes you should.

Dessert

I have four words for you. Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding. Yes, you read that right. Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding. Why use bread when you can use doughnuts?

LuLu's Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding! KRISPY KREME Y'all!!

If you’re a dessert kind of person (and seriously, who isn’t?), this LuLu’s concoction is the one you want to spend your day’s worth of calories (we can only assume) on. It’s so rich, it should be a sin.

Late Night

When you come down from your post-dessert sugar high, it’s time for one last savory bite. If you’re having a cheat day, you better get in one final meal before the clock strikes midnight, Cinderella, and we suggest that you head to Ginny Lane at the Wharf. Order the Short Rib Nachos (because you need a little more red meat before it’s back to steamed fish and baked chicken).

Savor the beef, jalapenos, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guac for your late night pleasure.

After this cheat day, you may need to hit the trails. Find out where to get a run in here.
