Huge Chili Cook-Off at Flora-Bama on Saturday, Feb. 4

Do you have a famous, backyard chili recipe? Or do you savor a great bowl? Well here’s your chance to have an awesome time at the beach and support a great cause.

18th Annual “Do It on the Line” Super Chili Cook-Off will be held Feb. 4 at the world famous Flora-Bama Lounge on the AL/FL line. The day starts at 10am with great food and continuous music all day long. The proceeds of each bowl of chili will benefit the Relay for Life Cancer Society. The fee for a three-man team is $50, and the winning team will take home the Champions Trophy for 2012.

With teams that include The Cremators (yikes!), Tums might be in order or at the very least, copious amounts of ice-cold beverages.

1st Place – Damn Yankees:  Chuck Lyons & Teresa Smith of Orange Beach

2nd Place – Kit Carson Chili:  Ed Carson & Jerry Mock, of Pensacola

3rd Place – The Cremators:  Kirk Byrn III, Wayne Waggoner, Lee Carlson of Mayfield, Ky.

People’s Choice Award –Wildcats:  Natalie Byrn, Donna Dukes, Janet Harmon of Mayfield, Ky.
