Good-Bye Summer – Hello “Prettiest Time of Season And Fabulous Fall Events Schedule”
Fall is arguably the prettiest time of year here on the Alabama Gulf Coast. The temps ease up, and there is a whole lot less humidity. Evening sunsets are spectacular and mornings invigorating. The only thing that doesn’t cool off is our calendar of events.
Sept. 10: Alabama Coastal Triathlon and “Tri-it-on” mini-course. Up to the challenge? Just think of the great food that awaits you here in Gulf Shores after you’re finished!
Sept. 25: Jason Aldean with special guests Corey Smith and The Dirt Drifters at The Wharf Outdoor Amphitheater. Jason puts on a great show and jeans and boots are required. Limited seating is still available and you can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster.
Oct. 6-9: “Thunder on the Gulf” – watch some of the fastest off-shore powerboats charge down the coastline of Orange Beach. This is an awesome family event with plenty of action, live music and parties at various locations. Rent a condo on the beach and view the entire race course from your balcony!
Oct. 13-16: Our biggest, most notable event is the “National Shrimp Festival”. This year more than 300 vendors will have fine art and crafts on display, two stages will have continuous musical entertainment while the little ones attention will be captured in the Children's Activity Village. And of course, Shrimp Creole, Shrimp Scampi, BBQ Shrimp, Shrimp Kabobs, Boiled Shrimp, Shrimp Salad, Shrimp…
Nov. 10-20: The Frank Brown International Songwriters’ Festival, the largest gathering of talented singer/songwriters in the world. This year more than 300 musicians will be performing in venues from Gulf Shores to Pensacola.
And that just gets us started. Many local venues and restaurants have special events scheduled for the Fall, so keep an eye on our Calendar of Events to see what’s happening.
