Here is a chance to catch great football action without having to drive forever, or pay a fortune.

The Senior Bowl in Mobile is set for Saturday, Jan. 28th. It is the nation’s most unique football game and the premier pre-NFL draft event, annually featuring the country’s best senior collegiate football stars and top pro prospects. Players are on teams representing the North and South and are coached by the entire staffs of two National Football League teams.

This year, Mike Shanahan and the Washington Redskins staff will face Leslie Frazier and the Minnesota Vikings staff. Shanahan will lead the South squad, while Frazier will coach the North.

The contest will be held at the 40,000-seat Ladd-Peebles stadium, located at 151 Dauphin St. Follow I-10 west through the Wallace Tunnel.  At the third exit , Virginia Street.  exit to the right and go straight ahead approximately 2 miles.  The stadium will be on your left. Kick-off is set for 3pm. You can also catch the game on the NFL Network.

The Senior Bowl is one of the premier events in college football dating back to 1950. Many great superstars debuted in the Senior Bowl including Brett Favre, Dan Marino, Joe Namath and Terrell Owens.
